Also get a 2026 5th for a 2027 7th. And Gilman makes 10M less base so some cap savings.

I see a lot of speculation that EDC is preparing for a bigger move. Using this as a cap savings move.

I'll believe it when I see it. But if we're dreaming, go get me Brian Burns or Thibodaux EDC.

Oweh wasn't a bust, but what a disappointment he turned out to be. He looked like he was going to be such a disruptive force as a rookie after those KC and Indy games.

I know just one thing wasn't behind this but Oweh jaking it on that play where Stroud got loose on the edge was a bad look.

Can’t recall for sure but I think Minter had already left when they drafted Oweh, or else I’d say maybe he saw something in him that rookie year that he can bring back. Jim has never been hesitant to take John’s castoffs, so that part tracks.

I guess you can't call Oweh a bust after last year but overall, he was hardly overwhelming. He was yet another project that took forever to develop. Good luck to him but his departure is nothing to lose sleep over.

Won't call Oweh a bust either for similar reasons as others, but I will call the decision to pick up his 5th year option a mistake. Could've used that cap space a lot better this off-season.

He’s not a bust but he’s an underwhelming 1st rounder who was never getting a second contract here, and I bet the 5th beats his comp pick.

I think they like to have two “normal” safeties plus Hamilton on the field if they can. They wanted Washington to be on the team. In 2023 Hamilton, Stone, and Williams all played when healthy.

We needed safety help after the Washington injury. Arguably, we needed safety help prior to the Washington injury.

Given the mighty struggles in the secondary, combined with health concerns, perhaps we're looking to reshuffle the deck to create some different personnel packages? And it has the ancillary benefit of maybe lightning a fire under the guys already on this struggling defense.
