I’m going out to dinner this year as well. Family is all over. Couldn’t get together for various reasons. It’s going to be...weird.
Did that last year it was, okay. I was skeptical. Doing it again this year too. When we have a larger family one day, or all our family is going to be together, we'll be hosting again because nothing beats all the homemade goodness. But for like four of us, it gets the job done.

Just finished dinner, escaped to the living room to watch the rest of the early game beside a wood burning fireplace at my folks house. Drinking some red wine. Might take a nap in a bit. Love this holiday.

Won 500 bucks last night at blackjack. No matter what this thanksgiving will kick ass.

Last year I smoked a 15lb bird and put an 11lb one in the crock pot. The crock pot one was so much better.
Throw a few slices of bacon on top, garlic salt and that's it. I wish they made a 12 or 14qt pot so I could get a bigger turkey in there but its so good and so easy.
Making a drink for the ladies this year called (no shit) wet pussy. Its mostly vodka and peach schnapps, but also it has cranberry juice so its thanksgiving adjacent.
I'll be sipping my apple/cinnamon infused whiskey. Cheers mate.

So an odd Thanksgiving coming to be sure.
Always a time to appreciate what you have, and those around you.
Thank-you.

I’ll likely be completely alone all day. At least I’ll have the Ravens game. May cook up a turkey just for some semblance of normalcy.

We have reservations at Ruth’s Chris in Pikesville at 3pm. Please join us if you like. Seriously. Even before Covid if I heard someone didn’t have anything going on for holidays I always extend an invitation.

What's everyone doing in this odd year? Immediate family?

Menu (for two):
Baked turkey breast, oiled and seasoned "Scarborough Fair" style (plus a little garlic salt)
Mashed potatoes (not flakes)
Stuffing (technically dressing, I guess)
Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce
Mushroom gravy
Cranberry sauce
Sweet Hawaiian crescent rolls
Pumpkin pie
Pecan pie
Sparkling apple cider
Egg nog (non-alcoholic)
Maybe moonshine later?
I think that's it.

Wait, there's a "Holidays" thing now? Must have missed that. I wondered why there was no thread off which to tag.

Mega-upside to today - not having to drive around for six hours or have any hosting duties. Glorious. I'll take a pared-down number of side dishes for that.
