That must be killing you

Mom wanted us to go down to South Carolina, but couldn't swing it.

I'd prefer to be at Dad's, but whatever...  Thanksgiving is a holiday that we wind-up rotating by year.  Dad and Terry offered for Barry and Donna to come down to their place... but they didn't seem comfortable with that.

We've done it several years at our place, but weren't up for it this year.

Going to Oregon Grille... should be good, plus they have their regular menu available.  Take Donna through horse country.  Barry will complain no matter what, but I'll keep eating, and just order another drink until I can't hear him.

There is so much garbage in the world, it can be very easy to be excessively negative.

Remember the good that does exist, starting with your friends and family tomorrow.

BSL'ers.... I'm thankful and appreciative of you.

Ditto that Chris. Love this place. Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. Agree with Pedro BTW, go with the Egg Bowl tomorrow night rather than that dreadful Washington game.

I'm going out to dinner for the first time on Thanksgiving. It's a weird feeling. My family has gotten smaller and smaller over the recent years. The last 3 or 4 years we have hosted about 15 people. Moms, brothers, brothers girlfriends/fiance, a handful of friends whose family is out of town and they chose to go there for Xmas instead.

This year It's just 4 of us, so, what's the point in smoking a big ass turkey, making all the sides, bunch of dessert, for 4 people?

Going to Ruths Chris, then going to a movie. My wife is excited because there isn't any cooking or cleaning to do. But I love Thanksgiving. I won't know if II'll enjoy the low key, going out to eat version of it until it's over.

Have a great holiday all. Safe travels wherever you may be going.

Just finished dinner, escaped to the living room to watch the rest of the early game beside a wood burning fireplace at my folks house. Drinking some red wine. Might take a nap in a bit. Love this holiday.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

The days go slow, the years go fast....  it's fun bumping this thread.

As always, I'm thankful for you, and hope you and yours have a good one.

My favorite eating holiday for sure.

On that note, I'm compiling a rankings of favorite Thanksgiving foods of my students today. It's interesting to hear what they eat / like because there's definitely some differences compared to what's been on my mom's table.

Second place: Ham (also by a large margin)
Third place: Turkey (same)
Fourth place: Yams
Fifth place: Collard greens / Sweet potato pie

What the hell are you teaching these kids?  Where is the stuffing!?  That's the best part by miles and miles.

1 is mashed potatoes as long as the gravy is money

Turkey is 2. Dark meat preferred

A lot of my kids were down on turkey today. I think that's largely due to them going with white meat over dark and/or probably whoever is making the turkey and/or gravy doing a poor job.

Another year... Happy Thanksgiving all....

Plans?

I'll be going out to dinner this year with my In-Laws...

I’m going out to dinner this year as well. Family is all over. Couldn’t get together for various reasons. It’s going to be...weird.
