Remember how mad people were when he was acquired?
I don't think I was mad exactly but I didn't like the deal. I'll admit I was wrong.

Yep, because they gave up Strowd.

I would accept warning track power against righties.
Seems like he's improving against RH arms. I wish they would have accepted who they were last season, and just given him the chance to play all year, and face righties.

Matt Blood is no longer with the Orioles. Matt’s kids play baseball and basketball with one of my grandsons. He seems like a good guy.
Elias doesn’t have problem dropping his long time allies.

IM sure Blood did some good work, but anyone he fires now will also be gone if ownership chooses to fire ELias. With that said, I just read JLC article on SI.com and the salty tears he is crying are the same ones I imagine those with EDS are crying. FWIW they mutally parted ways with Blood officially. Anf not saying you used the word fired in your post

I think the separation with Blood has been in the works for a few months now. Matt is a good guy and I know they put down roots in the Baltimore area recently. I don't think Elias is going anywhere.
As for JLC, I haven't read the SI because he is maybe the most bitter reporters I have ever seen. I believe the man makes up half of what he writes.

I am a little surprised they have not scheduled a DH for Saturday. I wonder if they are considering it. The forecast looks bad for Sunday. Light rain during the early afternoon turning to a steady rain for Sunday evening into Monday. The game may end up meaning something. If not for the Orioles, it may mean something to the Brewers who are currently 2 games ahead of the Dodgers for the #1 seed in the NL. The teams don't have a common day off in the final week of the season. They can't move the game up because of the Ravens playing at home. I would think MLB would want to get all three of these games in and the best way to assure that would be to schedule a DH on Saturday.

Elias announced he and Alby back next season
Well Deserved, the guy that made the mess and the guy who managed it and made it worse.
If I were Alby, I wouldn't lock into a mortgage.

Elias announced he and Alby back next season
Actually what he said was he expects to be back alongside Albernaz.

From the article.
President of baseball operations Mike Elias said his working assumption is that he will remain atop the Orioles organization, and Elias said Saturday that manager Craig Albernaz will remain in his role for next season.
While the Orioles have already made two changes to their front office and more may come, Elias is operating as the architect.
Our front office in general, we’re in a position we want to add from the outside this offseason,” Elias said. “We’ve got one of the very smallest baseball operations in the league, and I think we’re at a stage where we’d benefit greatly from outside voices in a number of areas.”
Elias said “my assumption” is that he retains his position through the offseason and next year.
“It’s a big responsibility kind of stewarding this franchise, and I remain focused on that every day, and what is the best decision for the organization and franchise,” Elias said.
