We got the return of Roundball Rock and a pretty good game between the Rockets and Thunder for NBC’s retro-90s NBA return. Even got some MJ at halftime, though if his role with NBC is just going to be more of tonight (pre-recorded interview segments), that’s a little disappointing. Would much rather hear him live giving unfiltered takes on the game and other current NBA stuff, even if he’s not physically in the studio.

That felt like a playoff game. Can see where the Rockets are going to miss FVV.

This seems bad.

Not gonna lie, one of the first things that popped into my head were those scenes from The Sopranos of those poker games where Lawrence Taylor would occasionally drop in, just swap LT with Billups.

The rigged card games are nasty.

One guy owed the Mafia 1.8 million.

I think professional sports are going to have to really examine and possibly eliminate the individual prop bets.

I think the prop bets are at the root of the gambling scandal that the Guardian pitchers are dealing with as well.

Very entertaining first week, league wide.

Luka & Ant already being hurt does suck, hopefully it won't be too long on either.

Well, it has certainly been noteworthy (from a local standpoint at least).

LeBron James’ streak of 1,297 regular season games with at least 10 points scored came to an end in Toronto tonight. With seconds winding down in a tie game, he had a chance to try and keep the streak alive and make a game-winning shot, but instead dished to an open Rui Hachimura for the buzzer-beating 3. For frame of reference, the last time he didn’t score at least 10 points in a game, Cooper Flagg was just two weeks old. (Jan 5, 2007)

It was the perfect way for this streak to end, LeBron making the right play for a game winner.

Much like Cal Jr, this will never be broken.
