It might just be me, but I don't think Santander would be playing this badly had he stayed. Sometimes you find a place that's the right fit for you, and you should stay. He went with the money and I don't blame him for that, but I think he was hurt by the change of scenery.
Either way, what's done is done. I just feel like Elias's track record in the offseason has revealed him to be a pretty builder of a major league roster.
Yeah that's what I was saying in that one post earlier, there are plenty of times where guys change scenery and then don't do well there, or will show up someplace and just absolutely kill it there. Look at the way Mounty plays in TOR. Sometimes it's just the difference in lineups and how they are used, sometimes it's the environment, who knows.
Yeah I am on record saying I'd love for him to be our drafting development guy, but think someone else needs to manage and run the major league roster.
