In his first 33 games (FCL/A), Nate George is hitting .364 with a .954 OPS, 165 wRC+, and 9 XBH. He's also swiped 20 bags.

Law on George:

Scouting Jesús Made, Luis Peña and more Brewers and Orioles prospects; plus Trey Yesavage notes - The Athletic

Orioles scout Ryan Carlson signed Illinois high schooler Nate George in the 16th round last year, and all George has done so far in 2025 is hit: .383/.451/.556 in 23 games in the Florida Complex League, and .340/.392/.532 through his first 18 games in Low A. He’s an 80 runner and plays like his hair is on fire — no, actually, he plays like there is someone right behind him who is on fire, and he is running for his life at all times. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anyone run that hard on the bases all the time, and I mean that as a compliment. He’s not the fastest runner I’ve seen, to be clear, but he runs with purpose.

He gets his hands a little too deep at the plate, not quite barring out, making up for it with quick hands and what seems like solid pitch recognition so far, keeping his hands in well on stuff inside and driving the ball the other way when he’s pitched away. He’s also at least an average defender in center. He’s good; my gut reaction was that he might be really good.

When Law is that complimentary, it gets my attention.

He’s already catapulted himself into our top 10 prospects with a big up arrow. 1st rounder if you re-draft 2024.

That's an enticing write up.

So here is my dilemma. Do I start to nitpick this kid yet or continue to dream and call him Trout 2.0

He needs to learn to channel his energy a little better. Gets caught stealing too much and strikes out a bit too much. But also just turned 19 and there is clearly a path to cleaning that up as he progresses.

He got 5th round money, so he didn't come completely out of nowhere.  Another example of how going underslot can be used later.  Some of our other recent examples of that haven't been as promising, unfortunately, but really you're chasing some tools and hoping for development as everyone has miles to go to get to the majors.

Dang. Aggressive. I feel like he's been good, but not great, in Delmarva.

.337/.410/.491 at Delmarva. Better than I thought. Only 1 HR in 43 games, but 8 2Bs and 7 3Bs.

Aberdeen is big gap to gap, I would expect more of those to come!

Aberdeen is tough on hitters. I expect him to struggle some, but maybe he's just that special. He doesn't walk a TON, but he also doesn’t strike out a lot so obviously the hit tool is there.

Always good to get ABs in A+ as a teenager.

Despite the numbers they wouldnt advance him if they didnt think he was ready.

It is interesting how aggressive they seem willing to be with positional players but with pitchers they appear passive
