Baltimore Sun: Maryland athletic director search: 4 candidates identified, sources say

Reported candidates are as follows:

• Nathan Pine (Air Force - Director of Athletics)
• J Batt (Georgia Tech - Vice President & Director of Athletics)
• Michael Lipitz (George Washington - Associate Vice President & Director of Athletics)
• Joe LaBue (Sports Business Executive Leader)

Lipitz and LaBue are Maryland alums, but Pine and Batt have spent previous time in the athletic department. Pine served as Deputy AD from 2011-14, Batt as Associate AD and Terrapin Club Director from 2011-13, and Lipitz as Senior Associate AD from 1999-11. LaBue's most recent role was as President of MLS club Charlotte FC from 2022-25.

Pete Thamel now reporting that, contrary to this report, no list of candidates has been identified and no one has been reached out to.

Taylor Lyons (Baltimore Sun) reporting that interim AD Colleen Sorem isn’t a candidate for the full-time job.

No word on how close they are to making a decision.
