8.1 combined innings, and 10 er in Gonzalez's last two starts. Hopefully just a temporary blip.

A strong start the next time out, would be good to see. I believe this was the first time Gonzalez is coming off back-to-back losses as an Oriole.

I picked him up in my big money fantasy league before the KC game and I just dropped him today. He should return to normal now.

Gonzo is a competitor. Really not even a question who stays in the rotation if the question were ever between him and Norris.

4/9: 6ip, 7 hits, 3 er, 2 hr's, 1 bb, 3 k's... 85 pitches, 55 strikes...

Struggled early, found himself late. Was an improvement over his poor first start vs. Detroit, and it was good to see him battle through his early troubles tonight.

4/16: 5ip, 3 hits, 0 er, 3 bb's, 6 k's

Wasn't overly sharp, but breaking stuff was improved. Nice curve to k Molina. Gonzalez gained his first win.

102 pitches... the homer was crushed to dead center by Encarnacion.

Once again, loses all of his movement at around 85 pitches. Time to put a pitch count on him.

He looked pretty good until he unraveled after the Lombardozzi error.

You mean he looked good until the 6th inning rolled around. Like always.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Him and Chen both. They hit the wall.

I am less than thrilled with his defense.

They have the second fewest quality starts in the majors, only pitcher you can count to get past the 6th in good shape is Tillman.

It's not really innings with Gonzo, it's pitch count.  He loses effectiveness after 90 pitches almost every time.  He's usually on the pitch efficient side, so he can typically get through 6 more often than not, with that last inning being shaky as he's slogging between pitches 85-105, but that's not been the case this year.  He's had higher than usual pitch counts early on for whatever reason, so he's been struggling even earlier in the games.

I'm not too worried about him overall.  Neither he or Norris tend to go deep in games, and those are the two guys that will be bullpen candidates once Gausman is ready (making the pretty big assumption that nobody else is healthy).  It won't just be who's got the lower ERA between those two, but how deep they go will be a factor in the decision.
