I remember Palmer talking about Scott McGregor, and how the O's wouldn't let him throw his change up in the minors because it was too good.  I guess nobody does things like that any more.

Some groups will. Matusz and his CH. Bundy and his Cutter. There have been pitchers that we have handicapped in the minors with the theory to make them get better with their other pitches and not rely on their overpowering ones.

However, this also screws up a lot of pitchers, changing what got them to the big leagues and making them do things your way. The whole square peg in round hole thing.

That's always the trouble with those plus secondary guys, the lower minors just can't handle that stuff, so it's harder to read how your pitcher is doing. Is he really pitching well, or is he just throwing out one pitch that no one in that league can touch. Good news there's some more guys developing though.

It's low ball, so I'm sure projecting him as a SP, as you should, but you only really mentioned 2.5 pitches, is there another one in the works? I've always felt like that FB/CH/CV combo is good, but really needs a 4th, ideally something hard and biting like a SL/CT/SI.

He has a slider and a curveball. Add him to the ever-growing list of impact arms we're amassing in the minors.

I have Heard Scotty tell the same story.  I guess that was an organizational philosophy.

If Creed continues to establish himself as a legit prospect, the Os can seriously consider trade offers on Adley this summer or in the offseason.

Wrong time to sell Adley and I'm betting he finds the offense again here soon. Too good not too. I'll take the now proven vet over prospects. Look at tonight's lineup. In 2022 we were all eagerly and desperately awaiting guys like Kjerstad and Mayo to be in the MLB lineup. They're black holes. Prospects are not proven MLB players and we need to win a World Series. No need to try and be too cute.

You dont force it but I think Adley with 2 years of team control left would fetch you a very nice return. You would need to be sure Basallo is ready to go for 2026 though.

I actually think Adley is swinging the bat better the last few days.  He has to be better than what we are seeing.

Looks like he's scheduled to start Friday. Hopefully nothing, but have to expect most of these guys will be hurt at some point. Every organization is dealing with it.

You’re so late with this that he’s back on the schedule. I figured it was minor considering they said anything about it at all. Usually it’s just a guy disappears and then they announce the surgery after it happens later.

Juan Nunez was placed on the full season IL yesterday. Thats essentially two lost years in a row for him, not sure what the injury is this time.

Any updates on Bragg? He was supposed to be back, but hasn't pitched since the 1st.

Went on the 7 day IL same time as Levi Wells and Trace Bright. The only one that is expected to miss much time could be Bright.

Blake Money promoted to AA.

When it comes to pitching attrition no team has nice things
