I guess but I didn't get the whole play him at AAA in the first place. If he was healthy enough to play there, to me, he could play for the big club. Don't care about "getting in some at bats." I'd rather have had him getting them with the O's. But water under the bridge. Get him in the lineup tonight and lets get on a W streak.
Gunnar is the man, but I think we've missed him less than epected, primarily because of how well Urias has hit in his absence. Urias has started 6 of 7 games with a 949 OPS so far. Mateo has started 3 games, once each in replacement of Urias, Westburg, and Holliday.
If Gunnar is here, he starts all 7, Westburg 6 (he missed a game to illness), and Holliday probably 6 as he'd sit against the LHP. That would leave 2 starts for Urias and none for Mateo. So a healthy Gunnar replaces 4 starts of Urias and 3 of Mateo. He's a clear upgrade because of Mateo (who is a bad hitter in general and 0/9 this year), but Urias is a solid hitter in general and has raked at a Gunnar-esque clip so far this year to make up for more than half of Gunnar's absence.
Anyways, I'll be thrilled to get Gunnar back and think he solidifies the offense a lot. But Urias has done a very admirable job filling in for him.
