Maryland is reportedly targeting Elijah Strong (Boston College). He started 19 games for the Eagles this season, and averaged 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He's a North Carolina native with two years of eligibility remaining.

Washington has now entered the transfer portal, along with Andre Mills. Both with "do not contact" tags, so expect them to join Payne in College Park.
You can add George Turkson, Jr. to this list as well.

Willard said he and his coaching staff have been dedicating two hours every single day for transfer portal scouting. Obviously a huge priority since that’s the primary way he wants to build out his rosters.
Who is this Willard guy you speak of?
I thought about your post yesterday and had to wonder, what school the rat bastard was recruiting for?

Pharrel Payne (Texas A&M) has entered the transfer portal with a "do not contact" tag, indicating he likely intends to follow Buzz Williams to Maryland. He started 14 games for the Aggies last season and averaged 10.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Would be a candidate to start in the frontcourt.
He is a big strong kid. He would be a great start.

I love how decisive he is. He's disruptive. He's an assertive Julian Reese, IMO.

He'd be a great start. I was just reviewing their season, in their biggest moments, he was the catalyst behind those wins.
He was their best player in the tourney. He was very good in the loss to Michigan.

Payne started his career at Minnesota, and I think he had a really nice game against the Terps in a Big Ten Tourney game a year or two ago.
Don't quote me on that, but I feel like I remember. Improved a lot under Buzz at A&M. Hope he's headed your way!
Edit: I looked it up:This was his Freshman year:
Scored a team-best 17 points in the Big Ten Tournament against Maryland (3/9) when he went a perfect 6-6 in field goals and 5-5 at the free throw line, as he also recorded three assists, a block and a steal.

Supposedly a player who can defend all 5 positions.
Good get for Maryland.

I watched him play some against Yale and Most of the Michigan game. He was A&M's best player in those 2 games. I never gave it much thought while watching the game but when I saw he was in the portal, it seemed a foregone conclusion that he was headed to CP>
Need about 7 more good portal hits.
Good start, keep working.
