"We want to be doing a lot better than we have been doing."  When talking about the playoffs.

Great but he didn't do squat this winter to improve the team. He talks a great story but that's all it is. A story.

Yeah, the actions don't support that statement. Elias is very clearly in the "every team has an equal chance" camp for playoff odds. Didn't read the article but assume Steve got the quote right. He doesn't think a 105-win team has a better shot than a 90-win team (aside from the round 1 bye).

Meet the new mode, same as the old mode.

Win a playoff game, then we can talk.

Gotta learn to crawl before you can walk.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

Different mode? If his point is simply that the payroll is significantly higher, well ok, that's objectively true. But from my point of view they've just spent more money on the same caliber of players, so I'm not sure what's really changed.

I think you brought up a point that often gets overlooked, when congratulating the team for their larger payroll. Payroll never deflates. More money spent doesn't mean stronger effort to be a serious contender.

Good news! I saw a dog today.
