Ok move. Solid RP but do worry a little on his age. He'll be 36 in ST. Its ok to go after guys on the under side of 30....lol
Older side, but still elite metrics in 25. Not as worried for age when it pertains to RP.

I'm ok with Kittridge
1) I'd guess all of the bullpen adds will be short term as arms advance thru the minors.
2) It's interesting we let the Cubs borrow Kittredge for the Playoffs for the cost of De La Cruz. Not that it matters or either party could admit, but I'd want to know if the action was intentional or if the Cubs just didn't want him back and called the Orioles before they non-tendered. Always a little surprised we don't see more of this.
3) Right now he probably lines up as the top RHed non-closer.

Some people are very excited about adding a solid reliever. This is good, but I don't see any need to give any extra credit because they got a guy back that a team didn't want to pay the salary for any more than if they had signed a different pretty good reliever as a free agent for a similar cost.

It makes the decision to trade him and the return look a little better, IMO. Much like the Yankees with Chapman and Torres. Like an added bonus.

The trade wasn't as big a deal as some made it - I have no issues with any aspect of it - and structurally there are certainly similarities to the Chapman - Torres deal, with the obvious exception that Kittridge and DeLaCruz are no-where near their counterparts.
We're giving Elias credit for a "masterful" waiver claim.
FTR, I have no issues with the first trade, the prospect or getting Kittridge back.

There was a bit of hyperbole but its a nice move. A guy they wanted back and by making the trade they dont have to fight for him in FA.

It’s just funny to get a high upside prospect for two months of a guy and then they just hand him right back. But yeah it’s really no different than just signing a similar player.
Sure. The trade was good. I don't see this as a bonus though.
