They are but what a horrible team name.  The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

If this kid makes it, it would be a remarkable achievement for the organization.

It sounds like they saw something in a young player that no one else did and fixed things and now they have a top 100 prospect.  It is pretty remarkable.

I dont know if he will be a successful MLB pitcher or not. Hes more proof that its easier to mold and develop pitchers further down the draft board than hitters

I don't know if he proves anything because he's such a weirdly unique case. Regardless, he is a testament to the pitching lab stuff being able to work.

I think if both have the raw talent, it probably is easier to build a pitcher, but this seems like a rare case to me.  Good for the organization to get him to this point.  A gold star if he becomes a good major leaguer.

I agree, I guess all I'm saying is I think he was undrafted due to his weird circumstances. If he gets to play junior year and does ok he has a great size and probably gets on somebody's board.

 

But yeah he was totally molded into something else, so maybe he is proof of something. And they don't necessarily seem to care about college results.
