I wouldn't mind seeing it go away.
I don't think it's dangerous enough to ban though.
Plus, too many teams use it.

It shouldn't be a hard case to make, and the dangerousness level of it to me is irrelevant. DIRECTLY pushing your own teammate forward while he's carrying the ball was not allowed for a long time. Only recently did it become allowed. Just undo it. 
In the Mile High Miracle game, think it was the last play of OT1, Ray Rice carried for like 8 or 9 yards or so, was getting stood up and would have been a 3rd and short if I'm remembering correctly... and Yanda came in and blasted a DEN defender or two. Rice surged for a few more yards and a first down. The rest is history. If Yanda had come in and pushed Rice from behind and done the same thing, it's a penalty.
