A bit of good news....the National Football Foundation, which runs the College Football Hall of Fame, announced it is lowering the win percentage threshold for head coaches to be eligible for induction, from .600 to .595 beginning in 2027.

 

This is significant in that it means the late Mike Leach (.596 win percentage) will be eligible for induction once the new rule goes into effect, and he will almost certainly be enshrined. Considering his contributions to the game (plus he still won a lot for a guy whose HC career consisted of Texas Tech, Washington St and Mississippi St), the HOF would have a hole without him there.
