Most of the secondary’s departures are by design. Locksley was extremely unsatisfied with their performance last season, and encouraged a number of them to transfer. They already have a large number of visits scheduled with DBs from the portal.

A seven figure NIL deal for Billy Edwards is insane. Good for him, though.

Besides the payday, I'm sure Edwards realized that there was a strong chance Washington was going to start from Day 1.

Former Tennessee WR Kaleb Webb has committed to Maryland. He was a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2022, and will have two years of eligibility remaining.

I don't follow college football closely enough to know for sure, but I assume most programs lose guys to the portal at the rate Maryland does? This is just normal for 2024 college football?

I believe they only lost 13 to the portal last year (maybe a few extra walk-ons that I missed at the time), so this has definitely been a bigger exodus from the program.

But yes, this is a normal number. Over the last few years, Maryland has lost a good bit fewer guys than most other programs.
