I know Penn State fans aren't huge Franklin fans, but I'm taking him every day of the week over Locksley.

 

Not exactly a high bar to clear.

Evidently MD snubbing Franklin for the HC job 14 years ago is still in his head. Which is pretty sad since he’s apparently so preoccupied with it that he can’t be bothered to build and coach teams that can beat OSU/Michigan. I hope Oregon curb stomps them next week.

I heard someone this week, maybe Haynie on 105.7 saying that Locksley and Franklin had some conflicts when they were on the same staff years ago. For whatever that's worth.

Franklin can be bitter all he wants. I'm sure every coach is bitter about some job snubbing in their past. But Locks is still a terrible coach in my view, especially when it comes to defense... so Franklin's Cover 0/Cover 2 punch lands square on the chin if I'm scoring at home.

That was the first thing I thought of too. Both known to be pretty good recruiters from our area and fighting over the same prospects year after year I'm sure is not building a bromance. That and Franklin has seemed extra anti maryland after the way things went down with him when he left.

I have no issue with that last TD, or Franklin’s explanation for it either, in and of itself. If you’re going to put your 3rd-stringers in, you shouldn’t feel obligated to tell them they aren’t allowed to score. If MD didn’t want them to score more points, then they should have taken a knee on the prior possession to burn clock and indicate to PSU they were quitting.

 

But yeah, Franklin always seems to find some way to take extra shots at MD, so whether it’s personal with Locksley or not getting the HC job in 2010 or whatever, he clearly has issues with the Terps.
