After wrapping up their home slate with a loss to Iowa, Maryland will travel north to Happy Valley for their final game of the 2024 season. Penn State barely squeaked out a 26-25 victory over Minnesota over the weekend, but remain in the driver's seat for the top at-large College Football Playoff bid. Their defense has led the way, with first-year coordinator Tom Allen heading a Top-5 unit nationally.

 

The Terps have already secured a losing record this season, and will miss out on a bowl game for the first time since 2020. Maryland is 3-43-1 all-time against Penn State, with their last win coming in 2020.

 

Penn State opens as 24-point favorites, and ESPN gives them a 93.3% chance to win.

I've watched every game.
Had to check out early vs Iowa.
Not real interested in watching Penn State put up 70.

Maryland has talent, they've underachieved.
I personally like Lox, but if we were operating like a program that was focused on winning, this would be his last game.

He does figure to be back.
We will see if he can hold onto his class.

If the boosters aren't willing to buy him out, hopefully they're going to spend big with the portal and bring in 6-8 players that can immediately factor.

I hate Penn State.
Getting beat down vs them and that being the end to a brutal season will suck.

Would really be nice if the guys who plan to jump in the portal after the season just announce it now. That way once PSU goes up by 30 (probably by halftime) you can treat this like a bowl game and play all the guys who plan to stick around next year.

WR Octavian Smith, Jr., OL Terez Davis, and LB Caleb Wheatland are officially listed as out for this game. QB Billy Edwards, Jr. is questionable.

Someone should tell the MD lineman that they are allowed to block P-State pass rushers.  They aren’t even getting so much as getting a hand on  them.
