I see Stephens got in late but missed both his shots.

Any word on Stephens? He was billed as a shooter. Tore his ACL (or achilles) before last year. Should be ready by now. Could use another deep threat.

He’s on the court. Missed two threes.

Saw that. Thought he'd factor into more PT, but I guess only so much to go around between Gillespie, Rice, Harris Smith, Miguel, Young, and Palmer.

OK the Dixon Indoor Stadium tip in was only a 40 point/18 reb night.

His 20/20 was in the 2nd round of the tourny vs Texas. 31 points/21 Rebs

What a stud. I miss my childhood

Maryland wins, 79-49.

Shot 44% from the field, 22% from beyond the arc. Out-rebounded Manhattan 56-34. Queen finished with 22 points and 20 rebounds.

Next game is Friday night against Mount St. Mary’s.

Dominant win after a less than stellar first half.

Check the preview thread. Linked an IMS article. Willard said he'll get time, but is still working back after the bad knee injury.

Joe had a very solid NBA career, but he'd be much better in today's NBA.

You guys need to leave this game alone. All that matters is reminiscing about Joe Smith's greatness

Didn’t Buck Williams have a 20 rebound game as a freshman?

Yes, they mentioned that on the broadcast. Believe he had a 22-rebound game.

Apparently Miguel has a sore ankle.
Maryland is going to need regular production from him.

Great to hear Reese has corrected his ft shooting.

Queen is only the second D1 player in this century to go 20/20 in his debut game. The other was MD native Michael Beasley (Kansas St, 2007).

He’s a perfect fit today

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Pick and pop...   he battled underneath, but often gave up size.  That would be less of an issue today.
He wouldn't be asked to stay in the post as much.  More spacing overall, which would help.  Also teams playing at a higher pace, and he'd be better utilized in transition than he was.

I used to occasionally watch the highlights of that Joe Smith game against Duke every now again.  He was just on another level compared to everyone else that night.

Nice to see Queen come in as a freshman and dominate, I feel like it's been a while for MD since we've seen that.  Obviously not great competition but still encouraging.
