This would only happen in a trading Kjerstad/letting Santander walk scenario but I've always enjoyed Joc Pederson, would need to platoon him which would make him a bit redundant if O'Hearn comes back but he pretty consistently provides good left-handed power and for intangibles he's seen a lot of playoff games between being a Dodger for a while and being on the Braves in 2021 which might be helpful

I already feel like we are setting up to replace Mountcastle with Mayo who is gonna strikeout at at least the same clip as Mounty. . A RH bat who has a lower K rate. Higher BA/OBP vs slug is what i would like in LF or CF. Move one of Mullins or Cowser

I'm counting Bradish, Wells, and Means out for 2025.
Wells had brace, not Tommy John, so he'll be back unless there are major setbacks. That's usually a 12 month injury. I'd keep him in mind for possible bullpen help at midseason.
Tommy John more like 15, so end of the year for Bradish. Some guys come back quicker, so its possible he's fully recovered and pitching sometime in August. Agree you don't count on him for anything.
Means is no longer an Oriole, so you'd have to be talking about re-signing him with a 2-year deal to get some value in 2026. I'd consider it, but the 40-man roster is fairly crowded. Maybe do it after Rule 5. Or just say goodbye.

Not a FA, but Luis Robert? Everything cratered this year, but through Age 25 he had a 280 BA. Would obviously take a lot. Most intriguing idea I've kicked around is an crazy package (basically two of the top-4 plus Povich and maybe another decent prospect) for Crochet and Robert.

Havent dug in on Robert. I just know he has had injury history. Id probably like him. Id call the Rays on Yandy Diaz. Like his profile at 1b/DH. Maybe you can use Mayo in a Robert trade.

He has a .262 BA last 3 years compared to Santander's .244, not exactly Luis Arraez but still an upgrade on contact, higher BB% too (11.8 vs 8.5)

Still think they need to hold onto their elite guys - very hesitant to trade Holliday, Mayo, Basallo.
I'd include Kjerstad in the tier below those guys, so he's open to trade. Fine with them dealing anyone under the elite tier.
What makes you lower on Kjerstad vs Mayo? Feel like they're both guys whose value will be almost entirely if they can hit for meaningfully hit for power even if they do have differences in handedness and position

For me I still like Mayo's potential more due to performance at such a young age. Obviously there were issues beyond his control, but Kjerstad hadn't even played a pro game yet at Mayo's age. Mayo's main disadvantage is playing 81 games batting RH in this park.

Mayo has a pretty decidedly better minor league resume with the bat. Wasn't Kjerstad's fault that he didn't get the opportunity to produce at upper levels at young ages, but Mayo did get that opportunity and thrived. Age is a big factor for projecting forward. The same performance by a 23 y/o as a 25 y/o is much more impressive.
Also think Mayo has the more optimistic defensive profile. Despite not being a 3B, he still played there at AAA which makes you optimistic he can handle 1B or even RF in MLB. Kjerstad was playable in the corners in AAA but seems real shaky in LF so probably limited to RF and questionable if he can handle that.

He's run a PR company for years. Some guy named TJ Brighman, with the made up title of chief revenue officer, has left the team.
Was in Corporate Sales with the Orioles before that.
Was in current position since Oct 2019.
New Ownership... not surprised.
