Burrow played amazing…and still lost
He’s been great outside of week 1. Their defense is worse than ours.

Lamar was amazing
That was one of the best games I have ever seen.
So glad that the Ravens were on the winning end

We couldn't stop the pass all day, basically shut down their running game.... we hand you the ball in OT with a chance to win the game on your 38 and you run it 3 times for 3 yards and your kicker shanks a 53 yard kick.

I think three runs and kick was the smart play there. It's well inside Macpherson's range, so make sure you don't go backwards with a sack. He didn't shank anything, holder botched it.As much as we dislike Harbaugh, imagine if we had someone like Zac Taylor.

When you have someone as accurate as Burrow and Chase to throw it to, a guy who proved he can take a 7 yard timing route to the house from your own 30, it feels criminal not to try a short pass there to get yourself in better position.
He misses that kick from 45 too but you have to improve your odds.

As positive as I'm trying to be. This is not a SB team. Maybe next year. Our defense won't get us there.
I'm not as gloom and doomy with the defense. The talent is there. Hard to get better than Humphrey, Stephens, Wiggins, Hamilton and Williams. Talentwise, they all have all-pro ceilings. Front 7 has been way better than I thought they'd be. Oweh, Van Noy, Simpson and Jones have all been way better than I expected. Travis Jones taking a huge step forward has been massive for the D-line. Orr HAS to figure out his coverages. Watching teams every week shred his zone schemes is disheartening. Feel like he just needs to trust his guys and go more man coverage than he does.
I'm willing to give Orr time, but it's running out quick. Macdonald showed improvement every week after the Dolphins game. Orr has been torched, and continues to do the same things. Defense actually got bettern talentwise, from last season. But the results have been horrible. If he can't figure it out, Ravens are going to have to do something if they want to win.
Seattle coming in at the 12th hour to steal Macdonald really derailed the Ravens.

He had just thrown a pick on one of those short timing routes. Odds are against doing it again, but I don't think getting to a 45 yard kick vice 53 changes much for McPherson. Think running the ball was the right call. When you have someone as accurate as Burrow and Chase to throw it to, a guy who proved he can take a 7 yard timing route to the house from your own 30, it feels criminal not to try a short pass there to get yourself in better position.

Supposedly, one of those final three running plays was supposed to be a pass but Burrow audibled out of it.

A win is a win and whenever you come out of a game like this on the winning side it's a good thing.
The Bengals played a lot like I thought they would earlier on this thread. A sense of urgency. Burrow torched the Raven secondary and if not for one mistake on their last drive in the 4th quarter, he probably would have one the game. Their defense sold out to stop the run and did a pretty good job of it. Until that last run in OT, Henry was sitting at 41 yards rushing for the game. But their pass defense was terrible.
I really have to question Cincinnati being conservative in OT. I guess they know they have a guy who can easily make that kick, but it really feels like they had been making the Ravens secondary look foolish all game long except for that one bad throw from Burrow. Why not keep your foot on the pedal?
Everyone's talking about Lamar Jackson being the MVP but the reality is that if the holder gets that snap down and Cincy makes that kick, the finger of blame for that loss is pointed squarely at him. He put on a clinic in the second half throwing the ball around, but that one play could have nullified everything else he did. Couldn't tell if the snap was early or not, but it doesn't matter. The QB in the shotgun has to be prepared for an early snap or bad snap and be ready to deal with it. Not catching it was his fault.
But a win is a win. It goes down in the standings as a win and it does not matter how it happened. For Cincinnati this was a bad loss. Twice in the second half they had 10 point leads and blew them. They drop to 1-4, but they have a 4 game stretch that if they can run the table they can save their season. They play at the Giants, Cleveland, and home to Philly and Vegas before coming to Baltimore. They need to win them all now.
For the Ravens they come home to play a surprising Washington team. They have their own version of Lamar Jackson in rookie Jayden Daniels. They should win, but they need to stay away from the dreaded let down. Washington is no longer a push over.

One complaint I have is not aimed at the Ravens, players or coaching staff, but rather at the radio announcers. Rod Woodson and Jerry Sandusky are horrible.
I spent most of the first half in and out of the car listening on the radio as I had things to do today. At the end of the first half on Kyle Hamilton's interception on the two point try, Rod Woodson was adamant that the PI call was a terrible call. In reality it was the right call. As they went to the half Jerry Sandusky said "So after a first half where the Ravens have dominated, they are going to go to the locker room 3 points behind." I looked at the stats on my phone. The Bengals had more yards, same amount of first downs, and trailed the TOP by about 3 minutes. How is that domination?
I don't care that the hometown announcers get excited for the team, but please report the game accurately. When I'm listening on the radio I rely on the announcers to give me a honest assessment of the game, not be a hype unit for the home team. This has been going on for years and it's annoying as hell.

That was a stolen win. Goes a long way towards making up for the Oak loss. Especially since this win was a division win. Orr looks like a bad decision. Said it at the time. He might improve but going with a young guy during our prime window with Lamar is just bad
McDonald wasn't old. They've never once missed on a DC hire. Orr will probably be a head coach somewhere in like 3 or 4 years. Seems more likely to me than him not being good.

Inexperienced was a better word to use. Though in the case of McDonald same thing. We will see. I sure hope Orr gets better but hes nothing special like McDOnald was. That Im confident saying

Imagine you (and many others) would have been confident saying that about McDonald at this point two years ago, too.
