Sweep also locks in top WC.

I'm greedy. Let's make them have to win one of the last three.

This might be the fundamentally best these guys have played in a long time.

Yeah at least the recent losses are back to being frustrating games you could/should have won instead of getting boatraced all the time like was happening for a while.

Not that it's likely to come into play, but we've now clinched the season series against the Yankees. In fact, we've won the season series against every AL East team this season with a composite 31-19 record. Hard to believe.

Meanwhile, the three teams we're competing against in the wildcard chase have had the luxury of going 33-3 combined against the most miserable team anyone alive can remember. Wonder what those records would have been without the White Sox to beat up on.

These guys need to not celebrate too much. There are still things to play for

They had a 3-run 9th inning rally in Houston one day after they clinched the playoffs vs TB last year, I trust them to avoid a strong hangover lol

OMG the O's did great on a rundown!!!

I was there. Was one of the most fun plays I've seen in ages although in real time I kept expecting the O's to throw it away

Cowser has legit power.

No one in the Yankees outfield even flinched or took a step. It was so obviously gone from the moment it hit the bat.

Orioles make the playoffs for consecutive years for the first time since 96/97.

Hopefully the celebration loosened them up a bit. Hyde looked emotional. It must've been a grind in the second half with all the injuries. Doesn't excuse the poor play and mental mistakes but with the injuries they've had, I can at least see that it must've been tough.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I think I said earlier, a part of me was dreading it.

Maybe low expectations is the way to go

I also think that something happened with Gunnar mid season. Maybe the All Star selection and talk of MVP caliber season messed with him but he went through that streak with all those errors and in a way, culminating in the Mateo collision. Your shortstop anchors the infield and when he's struggling it ripples throughout.

I don't want to see any Orioles picked for the HR derby again anytime soon. The O's guys who have done it in more recent years have pop but you're not thinking Big Bertha long drive winner type bats. No proof of course, but I don't like the after effect risk.

I think Santander could do it better than any other Oriole. He swings to hit the ball 475 every at bat, so doing it at the contest wouldn't be any different for him. He could probably do it, maybe win it if his pitcher is "on" for that type of event. Still say the hardest hit ball I've ever seen in person was a foul just outside the right field pole from Santander.

Yeah, I was talking just balls I've seen in person.

Cowser's blast was epic. Huuuuuge.
