I think we need a hitting psychiatrist. It's really that bad.

Lol. You backtracking on all the "wheres Mayo" posts from May onwards? And all the posts about how young players don't need minor league tke and should just get called up right away?

This is awful, but it won't be this bad next year. Need some improvements for sure, but that's what young players usually do. I do think we need some more stability in the lineup though and not sure how we get it.

Where are you on Adley?

You are correct. However do not confuse the fact that Mayo had nothing left to prove at AAA with him flopping so far. And he and Holliday have been major flops.

And I am just grouchy at how a team could go from a monster club to pure garbage in a few months and nothing was done about it.

Where are you on Adley?

It's my fault...I bought an Adley jersey last year.  I may sacrifice it in the firepit...maybe change the ju-ju.  I know you didn't ask me, but I'm so disappointed with his regression...it's so weird.

Still very optimistic. I think this is a horrible half season, not a refection on who he'll be moving forward. If he's this bad through May or June next year I'll be scared. I'd pursue a buy low extension if he's interested.

I have doubts about Cowser and Holliday being more than solid guys. Not much concern about either not being solid though.

Mayo and Kjerstad are more volatile just because of the higher bar they'll have to clear as mediocre defenders at offensive first positions.

I don't wanna rely on all these guys next year. I think resigning Santander is a good way to buy down some risk. Think the compensation will deflate his market a bit and keep him reasonable.

Pitching on the other hand...very concerning and we need big investments.

Meanwhile Witt looks like a perennial MVP candidate for the next decade.

Not that this is the FOs fault — everyone and their brother thought Adley was the 1:1 pick. It’s just so annoying that he’s looking like another bust.

he's good in spurts...not long-term or for long stretches...He's better coming off the bench.

He has a 110 OPS+. That's not a bust even if it's not what you want, Jesus dude.

Adley looked like a perennial MVP candidate from his debut thru this year's break.

Witt might struggle next year. Or Gunnar might. Look at what Rodriguez or Carroll did this year.

For those banging on Holiday...kid is 20 with like 300 minor league ABs....I think we can chill on him for a bit.  I'm excited to see what he'll become next year!

Here's a thought. As bad as we all feel imagine how the players feel? Sure they are making a butt load of money but still these guys are ultra competitive. I am sure they are pretty bummed.

Swing the damn bat Adley. Unreal how bad he is now. Can't wait for next year so we can put this debacle behind us.

Let's face it- everything they did last year in pretty much all facets of the offense, they're doing the polar opposite over the last 3 months. So maybe, just maybe, instead of crashing and burning in the playoffs like last year, they'll shock the world and suddenly catch fire this year. As Jerry told George, "if everything you've done has been wrong, then the opposite would would have to be right."

That is, of course, IF they even make the playoffs.

Is there anyone you haven't declared a bust? Rodriguez and Gunnar for sure. Got a feeling you were sour on Bradish when he had a 6+ ERA. Mullins when he was struggling this year I'm sure. Santander in one of his cold stretches probably.

Baseball is high volatility. Good players are going to have long stretches of playing poorly. Very few guys are slump proof.

If you wanna rant, rant away. This recent offensive BS is awful and worthy of griping. The year has derailed. "Everything sucks" is currently accurate. But I don't think that "everything will always suck" as you seem to think.
