The DPI call was awful.  But it's Gardner F**king Minshew.  Why do we only have a 10 point lead against them?  Why can't our defense (admittedly a little weaker in the secondary because Wiggins was out) hold them down to less than 26 points?  Even with a gift TD they're talented enough to hold down a lesser QB to less than 20.  Why can't Tucker hit a 50 yarder anymore?  Why does Stout misplay punts like that in high leverage spots?  Why can't Lamar put us in a better position to win this game?  Why can't Bateman catch a damn pass that hits his fingertips between the numbers?

Our defense doesn't play like killers in the 4th quarter and we play ball control instead of trying to run up the score.  And it's been an issue for years now.  For a coach that is putting a player (Cleveland) in the doghouse for supposedly not having a killer instinct and finishing plays, Harbaugh certainly does a lot of not finishing and lacking a killer instinct himself.

The story with the defense is often the same. The defense gives up the drive / points late that seals the final score. But it's come after the offense failed to score on several drives in a row, goes 3 and out, doesn't burn clock, a sack and a penalty and bad punt flip field position, etc.

Offense and sideline game management put them in a position more likely to fail... and when they break... it's the defense that gets the brunt. When in reality the coaches put them in position more likely to fail.

Someone needs to remind me why we signed Henry.

Because big name.

Literally that's it.

He was a too-old, declining player who was a bad fit for our system, but he sure gets people excited!
