Definitely felt like the first live game action for the starters this season. Sloppy play in a lot of areas. Including the coordinators. Orr got caught in some bad coverages. The biggest one was actually a drop by Perine. If Perine catches the pass out of the flat in the 3rd quarter, it's probably a TD.
With that said, there were positives to go around as well.
Wiggins graded out well. Feel like he has potential to be a special cover guy.
Stanley, despite the penalties. Looked like vintage Stanley. Graded out well too. If he can get back to that guy, that's huge for the offense.
Vorhees and Faalele were both up and down. To be expected for 2 guys basically playing their first downs as guards in the NFL. Not sure about Faalele yet, but I really believe Vorhees is going to turn into a solid starter. If he can be above average at worst, that gives the offense a really good line from Stanley in to Linderbaum.
Overall the defense played well. Especially considering the team they were going against, in a hostile environment. They gave up chunk gains throughout the night. But they also locked down when they had to. They also generated good, consistent pressure on Mahomes all night. And Pacheco didn't have any room to run all night.
As far as Likely, I think they just saw something on the tape from last season that told then KC would have major issues sticking Likely. I think it's more of a 1A-1B situation. They used Andrews as a blocker a lot throughout the game. I think against different opponents, you see the old Andrews. Really hope they keep feeding Likely too though. Kid is legit.
