Keith Law ranked him #100 on his Top 100 Prospects List that came out this morning.

http://insider.espn.... ... #Rodriguez

He projects him as a #3 going forward with a possibility of being a #2.

2 things I forgot to add:

He has a smooth arm action and good arm speed

I apologize for forgetting to add that, because they are both kinda important!

Great report, Tucker. I like that he's already sitting 92-94 in the first inning as a 20 year old. As he gets bigger and stronger, he should be able to hold that velocity deeper into outings. Would you say he is a consensus Top 100 guy now?

I would not say he is consensus quite yet. He is probably right on the cusp for most though. There are some that still question whether he sticks as a SP. Keith Law was high on him, it will be interesting to think what he says after seeing him Tuesday. I didn't get a chance to speak with him while i was there.

Looked good in the Futures game. Keith Law likes him as a 3/4 in a major league rotation. Only threw like 9 pitches and got a K on a filthy offspeed pitch.

I managed to miss his inning, even knowing when he was expected to pitch. I am SO pissed :P

44. Eduardo Rodriguez, LHP | Baltimore Orioles (age 20)
Current level: Double-A (Bowie)
Preseason ranking: 100

After an aggressive promotion to Double-A, Rodriguez appears to be the next starting pitcher in line for a rotation spot in Baltimore after Kevin Gausman, and with the chance for three above-average pitches could be a pretty good one in his own right.

Rodriguez will sit 92-94 with a hard upper-80s changeup that gets swings and misses more from tailing action than from deception, and his breaking ball has a chance to be at least a solid grade 55. He'll pitch the whole year at 20 and shouldn't see the majors until this time next year at the earliest.

Wondering is it impossible for him to late addition to the 'pen in September like Bundy was this year? He'd have to be added to the 40 though.

It's certainly possible but given that he isn't on the 40 man I think they will probably keep him off until they are ready to call him up sometime next year.

That's great. Does this change how you view him as a potential trade chip?
