Maryland wins, 50-7.

They finish with 629 total yards (381 passing, 248 rushing). No turnovers, and just five penalties for 45 yards. Also finished 6/16 on third down, and 1/1 on fourth down.

So are they supposed to be good this year or did they beat up on a early season cupcake like they always do?
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

How bad is UConn?

Edwards looked good. Felton looked great. OL seemed to give the QBs plenty of time and we rushed for almost 250 yards.

Defense looked fast and guys were flying all over the field.

UConn is absolutely terrible. But we played well.

UConn would struggle playing in the CAA, so keep that perspective in mind. You can still come away with some encouraging things though. Edwards’ accuracy for one. We’ll see if it holds up when he inevitably faces more pressure, but the improvement was noticeable. They avoided the unforced errors that have been a hallmark in the past.

They should beat Michigan State. ESPN’s matchup predictor gives them an 82.6% chance. Still, if I was Locksley I’d get that Illinois tape from last year out and show it to everyone as a reminder you have to do more than just show up against lesser opponents.

Pro Football Focus graded Billy Edwards, Jr.’s performance in this game as the fifth-best of any Power Five quarterback.
