No. But when you walk a guy ahead of Vlad, why do you pitch to him?

Because you have to. You don't walk a guy to put 2 on with 0 outs. Vlad is crazy hot right now but even he sometimes makes outs or only gets singles. You can't just walk him in all scenarios. He's not peak Bonds.

You don’t intentionally walk him but it’s absolutely a mistake to throw him a pitch to hit there. Especially when it’s Baker where anything over the plate is incredibly hittable.
