5-star EDGE Zion Elee (Baltimore, MD) has committed to Maryland. He’s currently ranked as the 13th-best player in the country, and the 2nd-best from the state of Maryland. Had offers from Georgia, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Penn State, among many others.

It’s obviously very early in this process, but if Maryland can hold onto him he’d become one of the best high school players to ever come to College Park.

Elee certainly isn't acting like a guy who plans to use Maryland as a springboard to commit elsewhere eventually, he's been publicly working with Malik Washington on social media to recruit 5-star OL Immanuel Iheanacho (Rockville, MD) and 4-star OL Edward Baker (Baltimore, MD) to College Park.

 

Washington's impact on Maryland's recruiting efforts shouldn't be understated. He's been aggressively recruiting local guys for months now, since the moment he committed.

Haskins would’ve ended up at Maryland if they’d kept Locksley. So would Chase Young and Keandre Jones. But once they hired Durkin instead, those guys were always off the table.

Significant buzz growing around 5-star OL Immanuel Iheanacho (Rockville, MD). He officially named Maryland as his #1 school today, and will visit College Park this month. Jeff Ermann (IMS) is currently projecting him to commit to Maryland over Oregon.

 

He's currently ranked as the 3rd-best player in the country, and the best from the state of Maryland. Still a long way to go until December's signing period, but if his commitment holds alongside Elee's this would easily be the Terps' best football recruiting class in school history.

He's a St. Frances Academy product, and is currently ranked as the 35th-best CB in the 2026 recruiting class and the 9th-best player from the state of Maryland. He chose Maryland over offers from Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, and Tennessee, among many others. He becomes the fourth St. Frances player to commit during this cycle, joining 5-star DL Zion Elee, 3-star TE Damon Hall, Jr., and 3-star DB Khmari Bing.
