There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

Boston lost to Houston again. Cleveland beat Minnesota 2-1 to end their skid tonight. KC beat STL to extend their WC lead.

It's probably going to come down to who stays the healthiest between the Orioles and Yankees.

The Yankees nearly choked a 5-run lead after 7 to Texas, but unlike the Orioles managed to barely pull it out to move into a first place tie.

The Mets were nearly scoreless in Seattle for the entire weekend, losing 6-0, 4-0 and 12-1.

The Red Sox walked off the Rangers tonight, 5-4, in 10 innings, while the Yankees were pummeled (tee hee!) by the White Sox, 12-2 at Comiskey Park, or whatever they call it now. The Yankees drew 11 walks and left 16 runners on base. It was also Chicago's first win this season on a Monday. So glad the Yankees could oblige.

I know we, myself included, have done a good bit of handwringing over the O’s very uneven performance over the past 1.5 months….but damn, imagine how insufferable a Yankee fan message board must be after that debacle tonight. Makes me smile.

Was also the first double digit win for the White Sox this season.

Wild numbers in that NY/CWS game. The total pitch count was 349 for an 8.5 inning game. Gil threw 98 pitches in just 4.0 innings. NY had 18 baserunners and scored just 2. They were just 2-18 w/RISP. Despite all that, the game time was exactly 3 hours.

Red Sox pitching staff is cooked and Paxton left with calf injury.
Paxton has a torn calf muscle, likely out for the year.

I feel kinda zen about the division race right now tbh. When we have like 10 games left I'll start stalking the Yankee scores but right now as long as neither team goes on a 15-game winning streak or losing streak we're probably not going to have anything major happen where I'm not gonna sweat it, unless they're in danger of dropping out of the first WC spot

Man and people were freaking out about a 2-1 loss to the Rays. Yanks lose 12-2 to the worst team in baseball
Nah, blowouts are far easier to deal with, than it is to watch your guy toss a 6 2/3rds shut out, only to watch the pen immediately cough it up.
Good news! I saw a dog today.

I mentioned this in today's game thread. I have a sickening feeling that something wicked this way comes.
