Means, Bradish, Greyson, Suarez, McDermott, Wells, Rogers, Columbe, Elfin x2, Bautista, Tate.
Now, Bautista and Tate were the first, and from the year before so I prob shouldn't count them, but it did happen. Rogers is a knee thing, wouldn't be connected to any arm issues. And Grey hasn't had to shut down for surgery yet, but HAS had to shut down twice, and it's probably coming sooner or later.
That's a LOT of coincidence. My first thought was Driveline. Dodgers are known to work with them too, but mostly hitters. BUT their pitching coordinator DID use to work for them.
I dunno. It's just a LOT of pitchers from one team going down for elbow and shoulder injuries. Dodgers could be more, I think White Sox have a lot too, they also have a deep connection to Driveline.
We’re in the middle of the pack when it comes to pitcher injuries. It’s just that simple.
Also, McDermott isn’t an arm issue.

His is a lat isnt it? That's a degree off arm injury, like a "forearm strain" almost always ends in TJ. There are certain spots that connect to others, the lat is on the backside and ties into the OTHER side of the labrum and rotator cuff area. Where there's a labrum tear back there it's called a Bankart tear. (I've got one now I've yet to have surgery on, because I had surgery on the front half and it was NOT a fun recovery). You can also see rotator cuff issues and impingements back there where swelling rubs on the scapula or the collarbones.
Just one of those ones you learn to perk your ears up and dig deeper when you hear about it cause it can very easily be a back of the shoulder problem. Don't see them as much in baseball because it's the inverse of the front side (throwing motion) where it's usually a picking up motion, slightly behind the body that will do it. (Think dumbbell raises, if you get a bad angle slightly too far back and away, the stress goes there in that upper back/lower shoulder area.)

It was a solid 11 starts as an Oriole.

So what now? Will Gibson be ready by Sunday?

I don't think Gibson is expected until the start of May.

Welp, guess Brandon Young will be making his big league debut. He did at least have a great outing at Norfolk the other day.

Looking forward to seeing Young, just crazy that it’s come to this so soon.

Actually looking at the schedule, with off days tomorrow and Monday they could just skip Eflin’s turn for now and wait until they get more of a timeline on his return. I’d still like to see Young though.

I think they bring up a reliever for the week to 10 days then maybe Young. This IMO is a big blow, to a rotation that is already challenged.

Brandon Young couldn’t be more ready. Pitching analyst I respect has him as a top 20 pitching prospect in baseball. Chill demeanor on the mound, maybe he can be the rare guy that has success right away.

I hope you are right. The Orioles need something to go right and soon.

Off day tomorrow and Monday so that'll save the rotation some.
I'd still call on Young to see what he's got.

On the 15-day IL, retroactive to Tuesday. With the upcoming off days they won’t need a 5th starter until the 19th, but even if healthy he won’t be eligible to return by then, so they’ll eventually have to figure something out.

If Raul Alcantara starts for Norfolk tomorrow then it is all but confirming Young will start Sunday for the O's.

Correct. Stuff is good on all five of his pitches and he has good command of each of them.
