I think I'll wait til the end of the season to decide what I'd do with Rogers simply because I want as much information as possible with him.

I'd gladly do a 3-4 year extension. At worst, he's a back end guy capable of long runs of dominant performance. Most likely a very solid mid rotation arm.

This is my opinion too. You know he'll hit the skids from time to time. But when he gets on a roll, he'll give you TOR stuff from the mid to back of the rotation. I respect what mackus said, get a more stable, consistent arm. Maybe having Bradish and Baz locked down will draw more quality pitchers to Baltimore.

I agree, but also a lot of risk. He's been very good for over a year now, minus a couple of months this season. I'd still feel very good about a rotation anchored by Bradish, Rogers, and Baz for the next few years.

He wants to stay, obviously I'll defer to the FO's reasoning for not extending him. I just wish I knew why they don't like him enough to commit. Maybe they know they're going to write whatever check is necessary to get Skubal, so they need to be judicious with the money dedicated to the last rotation spot.

Probably as simple as, he thinks he’s worth 90M, they think he’s worth 60M (or whatever those numbers are). He loves it here, but not enough to give up millions of dollars.

That's always a possibility. But I feel like there's got to be some understanding of his value, by him and his agent. Plus, he's handing over at least some leverage to the team, by repeatedly saying he wants to stay. During ST, he said he's open to negotiating in-season, but the team hadn't approached him/his agent at all. As far as we know, that hasn't changed. If they think they can do better, I'm all for that. This is just one of those times where I'm tortured by Elias not talking about these things. Which I very much respect about him.
