ESPN: Broncos to reinstate Matt Russell

http://espn.go.com/n...day-sources-say

I don't mind them giving him a second chance, but it should've been longer suspension IMO.

ProFootballTalkMatt Russell gets seven months for first-offense DUI

Per multiple reports, Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell has received a sentence of seven months after pleading guilty to DUI, careless driving, and possession of an open container of alcohol.  Russell also will be placed on probation for two years.

Denver PostPat Bowlen resigns control of Denver Broncos, acknowledges he is dealing with Alzheimer's disease

Pat Bowlen, one of the most iconic owners in NFL history who helped guide the Broncos to six Super Bowl appearances and two world championships in his 30 years as owner, is relinquishing control of the team as he acknowledges he is dealing with Alzheimer's disease.

Team president Joe Ellis will assume control of the Broncos as Bowlen focuses on his health.

"It's a really, really sad day," Ellis said. "It's sad for his family, his wife and his seven children. It's sad for everyone in the organization. And it's sad for all the Bronco fans who know what Pat Bowlen meant to them as an owner. It's a day nobody wanted to see happen."

Bowlen, 70, has placed his Broncos' ownership in the Pat Bowlen Trust that is controlled by non-family members. Final-say authority with the team is held by Ellis.

Bowlen's long-term goal is for one of his seven children to run the team when they're ready. To be clear, the Broncos will not be put up for sale.

More of a formality than anything else, I don't think he's been exactly "running" the team in recent years. One of the more underrated owners in sports IMO.

Drinking a couple of beers at home can get you a 4 game suspension?

Tough crowd.

Wow, that is a tough one to swallow.  Someone told me about Prater at a get-together, I thought he had another DUI.  So it turns out he drank beers at home and failed some sort of drug test?

"By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Wes Welker's Wikipedia page. Did amphetamines, got a four game suspension. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!"

Dude.  Taking molly at the Kentucky Derby sounds fucking awesome.  Not 1/4 of a multi-million dollar salary awesome, but fun nonetheless.

Almost as cool as doing it one year during Art Attack on UMD's Mall when Bloodhound Gang performed (and people protested by mooning the stage from the hill) and Outkast performed.  Not that I, personally, would know though.

Me too.

I think it was that show that made UMD take Art Attack from The Mall to Byrd.  I remember there seemed to be a lot non-UMD students at that show and remember walking near the back of The Mall and seeing what almost looked like dog-fighting.  I think after that UMD officials were like, "Uh, lets move this to Byrd and make students get free tickets in the future."
