I'll still hold out hope that this team will get it together in the post season.  Yes, they have a multitude of pitching and defense issues but for me, it's this up and down offense that is keeping them from going on any run.  When you're getting virtually nothing from Gunnar and Adley, it's a lot to overcome.  To even have a fighting chance in October, those two have to get going.  If they don't, it will be short and sweet.  But I still believe in their talents and maybe when the weather finally starts to be cool on most days, they'll regroup physically.

I'm just glad we have a team that's in the conversation. As opposed to losing 100 a year. It's a good time to be a Baltimore sports fan.

And we always have the Ravens to fall back on.  Well, as long as they're running the ball. (wink...wink)

Everyone other than Houston sucks too!

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I've become a bit of a fair weather fan and I'm okay with that!

Can he swing a bat yet?  Forget if we've already heard about that.

Great question.

I don't recall hearing either way.

Hopefully, He's at least hitting off of a tee.

I would guess swinging, making contact in particular, is much harder on the hand than fielding, especially the throwing hand. So that might be something that happens later. Never broke a hand though so have no idea.

Jordan Westburg said his right hand grip strength is improving. He said he hopes to begin swinging/hitting “soon”

For what it's worth, he had 52 PAs this spring. Gunnar had 37. And that's coming from all winter off. I'd guess a week of hitting will get him mostly back?

Since this is the positivity thread, I'll point out that the ALDS doesn't start until October 5, so their first playoff game is almost 4 weeks away.

They're going to get Westburg, Kjerstad, Mountcastle, Rodriguez, Coulombe, and Webb all back in time for the playoffs... Burnes, Eflin, Suarez, Rodriguez are all going to be "on"... bats will break out of their funk at the right time... October is going to be fun.

I don't know what will happen in the short samples of the post season, but I agree these guys will be back and do feel the Os have as good as chance as anyone else.

I think they're going to go to the WS, if not win it.
