Yeah I think those guys are promising, but they're also the kind of guys you can restock every year if you're good at drafting.

Exactly. I like all 3 guys but this is what I want them to do, deal from the depth not the top.

Its obviously a sellers market. I like that the O's jumped the line early here. Can make another move or 2 in the next few days

Burnes isn't here if not for Rubenstein. Eflin deal isn't allowed if not for Rubenstein.

I don't give a chit in the big picture how far the O's go in October this year... the future is better because John Angelos is out and that pleases me to no end.

Didn't even get over to Hays yet and the next trade is out. :)

I'm not really on the Eflin train the way others are.  He's probably in the tier of better guys reasonably available.  Feels like Kremer with a better walk rate.  Nothing wrong with that (I like Kremer as a 4/5), but there's nothing that exciting about it either.

Orioles needed to do something given the challenges so that's good in general. Eflin here next year so he sort of acts as a bridge back to Bradish.

I'd prefer a LHer and if we're putting something together with TB, would have really liked to work McClanahan into it, but whatever.

It's a good trade because of need and the need for action.

Not worried about what they gave up (not on the Etzel train yet, don't care about Baumeister, like Horvath but he's not really slotted into the future)

It's mostly meh for me (not much upside) but that's fine.

I live just north of Sarasota and 20 minutes south of St Pete, I can tell you the Rays have zero interest in trading McClanahan. At least not this year, unless blown away, which they wouldn’t be while he is out with TJ.

The cash included is $1M, which covers a trade bonus that Eflin had in his deal. Doubt it was a major consideration or meant that we included more talent to get the deal done. O's are paying the full balance of this year's $11M and on the hook for $18M next year.

Agree completely on depth remark. The only one I'll miss is at all is Baumeister, and the O's have a number of promising pitchers in A ball. He can be replaced.

They'll have to go higher to get more though.
