Povich's ERA for today was 72. That's bad even if you move the decimal point over one to the left.

We absolutely need two SPs. The 2nd one can be a Kikuchi type guy. Or a Flaherty type from last year. Thats 100% better than relying on a Povich or Suarez. And I understand Suarez has righted the ship the last few outings but you cant rely on him and you need depth anyway.
I don't want last year's Flaherty. That's just different, not better.

You absolutely need at least 1 mid level guy to take Povich spot.

Thats the headcase Povich stuff that he consistently did in the minors.
Its mechanical. He needs to be able to make adjustments instead of having games where he just has nothing.

Nothing on Miami, Colorado, Oakland, Anaheim very interesting.

Irvin probably sticks simply for his ability to eat some innings and start if really needed. Can definitely he replaced, though.

Hopefully the pitching in Delmarva and Aberdeen is legit because we're thin in Bowie and Norfolk.

Nope, Flaherty this year is below the Flaherty line from last year, IMO. Not good enough.Would you take another Jack Flaherty rental? His savant page is elite this year. Probably a fluke because the FB velo is still down, but maybe worth a shot. A lot of teams still clinging to hope.

Colorado has Quantrill. He'd be ok. I want better but he'd at least be above the Flaherty line.

Flaherty has an FIP of 3.05, better than Burnes and Grayson. Quantrill at 4.55. Pass.

I wouldn't ovsess about "this year" numbers. Current performance is important, but rest of season is what I'd be trying to optimize and I'll base that moreso on track record over a few good months from a lesser guy. Not going to bat for Quantrill here but simply stating that Flaherty finding it for a bit doesn't make me think he's a different guy than the inspiring guy we added last July. I'll take about two handfuls of reasonably available starters ahead of him.Flaherty has been much better than Quantrill this year. I wouldn't be super confident in either one, but Flaherty has the elite numbers this year.
