It's hard to lose less than 45 games in this league. They'll probably win around 48-50.

27-77, lost 10 straight, on pace for 42 wins. And this is before Crochet is traded among others probably.

Anyone want to re-evaluate? Lol

They're worse than even I could imagined. At this point they will struggle to get to 40 wins and that's before the trade deadline.

At least they can look forward to getting the 10th pick for all of this mess.

2021 AL Central Champs.
Looked on not long ago as an up and coming team loaded with a top talent in a great farm system.
The worm can turn very very quickly in this sport.

Yes. Them, the Padres, Tigers, Jays, etc. etc. - We must never take this for granted. We're in a golden age of Orioles baseball, and while there's still great talent remaining in the minors, you never know how long the fun will last.

On a worse pace than the 1962 Mets.

Imagine losing 3/4 games in a 4 game set and your winning percentage goes up.239 WPCT.
On a worse pace than the 1962 Mets.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

.239 WPCT.
On a worse pace than the 1962 Mets.
At least those Mets had a bit of a built-in excuse. They were an expansion team which had the misfortune of following the expansion Angels the previous year. The owners had made the expansion rules way more liberal that time around and the Angels were actually able to pick up some decent players, finishing a respectable 70-91 in that inaugural year.
The rules were changed, however, when both the Mets and Astros (then known as the Colt 45's) were due to begin play. This time, MLB made sure those teams got nothing to pick from but the designated dregs. When the new rules were announced, Houston GM Paul Richards (formerly GM and manager of the Orioles), marched to the podium and announced to the media, "Gentlemen, we've just been fucked."
It's pretty shocking to see the White Sox go over a cliff, particularly when you consider where they were a few years ago. You almost have to be trying to be this bad. The Mets had no choice, at least not initally, and the 1917 Philadelphia A's sold off all of their best players a few years prior. In this day and age, it's almost remarkable that a team would even be in a position to lose more games than any team in the past 125 years.

They’re a special kind of bad
At least they’ll get the… *checks notes* …11th pick in the draft at best.

19 game losing streak now, tying the 2021 O’s.
20 now, just 1 game short of tying 1988 O's for longest streak in AL history.
So how bad are they? Even if you removed their current 20-game losing streak *and* a 14-game streak from earlier in the season, they would still have the worst record in MLB by winning %.

So the question is how good will Chicago be in '27?

Or how good will they be next season? Both '89 and '22 O's had massive swings in improvement from the prior season.

Even that trio will have a tough time winning games when the team OPS is barely above .600.
