We go into NY with Suarez, Povich and Irvin and win 2 or 3 and the Yankees finish with a position player eating the final inning.

 

They wanted to break the Orioles series success against AL East teams and got hammered.

 

Orioles now 17-4 in games decided by 5+ runs.

That has to be the biggest FU series I've ever been a part of. A team that deserved to be slapped around in the end gets totally demolished, stepped on and embarrassed in front of their home fans. I wish I could talk to Pedro Martinez about that bs he was spewing in the pregame the other night. We own this division and have for a long time now. They need to accept it.

I listened to the game one SirriusXM on the way home from fishing. Its was the Yankees broadcast and I actually though they did a pretty good job. Gave the O's a ton of credit and talked about how strong their offense is.

 

But to me the telling comment was about the 3rd or so inning. Irvin just walked another guy and the female commentator said "this is what will be the downfall of the O's season. They just don't have good enough pitching. Yes I know the stats but its deeper than that. How can you have a 7 run lead and then walk the leadoff batter."  

 

She wasn't wrong. Its gets overlooked because we just spanked their asses yesterday but take aside the offense for a minute. Irvin allowed 5 runs in less than 5 innings. That ain't going to cut it most times out.
