HRs are great. Need to manufacture runs without relying on the HR, though. All 5 runs product of the HR, granted two 2-R HRs.

Get used to it.  That's who they are.  That's who everyone is.  Station to station baseball is long gone.

I think the bloop to shallow RF is a byproduct of playing Santander so deep to mitigate his lack of range.

Seriously. I italicized bloop to shallow RF because that play happens multiple times per week, where an O's second baseman is 50-60 feet into the OF, and Santander / O'Hearn are finally arriving.

That's how you can maximize Mateo's value as an Oriole: if you're intent on playing Santander, let Mateo go shag those popups to shallow RF.

Its a bad feature of a good situation when all the losses feel like ones that got away.  Frustrating to lament every night about the one or two things that could've flipped it from a loss to a win.

3-6 in 1 run games this year. We were 30-16 last year. As predicted, we are a more talented team this year but how we finish in close games will determine if we win 95+ or closer to 90.

Agree with the importance and unpredictability of 1-run games, but both totals feel low to me (unless that + is doing a lot of work).

I also expect the performance in such games to pick up later in the season when the bullpen issues have been addressed. There won't be any Felix to give us a huge advantage, but should improve.

I just threw a few numbers out there. Our run diff will almost surely be higher than last year. We ended at +129 last year which was a 94 win pyhtagorean total. We are already +86 this year.

MFY just don't lose.

I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

They've gotten very good pitching and Judge has been going wild for a few weeks now.  Plus Soto is having an MVP season.  And they haven't been exactly playing topflight teams lately.  Hopefully, the Dodgers can bring them back to reality.  Something better start happening because the Orioles are suddenly 4 1/2 game behind.

Totally unconcerned. There are several mini seasons within seasons in baseball and this is one of them. The Yankees aren't going to play .700-.800 ball all year, and nothing really matters until the postseason anyway. Last year the Rays were insanely hot for a good chunk of the year and borderline foundered in the second half.
