3 hits ain't gonna cut it too often.

I'm glad Hyde just said it. You can't ambush everybody and you have to be more patient. Now they need to get the team to get it.

Should have moved Kremer to the BP and kept Irvin in the rotation.

Again, it's just poor plate discipline.  I know, I know...the pitchers are too good today.  BS.  Quit swinging at balls that aren't even close to the plate early in a count.  Make the pitcher work a little.  Force him to throw over the plate where you can do damage.  Orioles hitters just make it too easy for these pitchers.  I guess if there's a silver lining, they did draw 4 walks in the game which is nothing short of a miracle for them.

Kremer is 79th out of 80 in fWAR for qualified starters in baseball this year. He is worst on our staff in rWAar at -0.5. Only player on the roster with worse right now is Hays at -0.9. WAR isnt everything and it can be deceiving for pitchers in particular but its giving you general outline. Been at the bottom of the team and bottom of baseball for qualified starters. Some people wanted to die on his hill though

The only person dying on a hill was you by saying Kremer was a bottom 5 SP in baseball for the last 3 years. Now you found one arbitrary stat to back it up after a poor start and you're looking for your flowers.

I think Kremer is a solid/good back end rotation guy. 7/9 starts so far 3 ER or less. Maybe that's not good enough anymore? With our rotation pitching well top to bottom he probably should have been the odd man out.

Lolz. Ive always used stats to back up my claims when I said them. Just like last year, his xERA is really bad. His ERA+ is 85. Of course, his surface stats improved lat year and he ended up being useable. The advanced stats still hated him. Always have. Maybe that happens again this year but as of right now he's literally one of the worst SP getting regular work.

Kremer is what he is.  An erratic, back end starter who can occasionally give you quality starts.  But he's always going to have an ERA hovering in the 4.00-5.00 range.  Gives up the long ball and not particularly good in commanding his stuff.  Pitches lousy at home for the most part.  I'd prefer he'd be in the bullpen and give you an inning or two.  I think Irvin would eventually start getting hit too if he remained in the rotation.  His success so far this year is unlikely to be sustainable.

It’s his lack of command of his stuff that frustrates me the most. If he’s looking at his blister, then why was he starting last night?

His best start of the season vs the Reds he was doing the same thing.

Seems like he can pitch through it.

He was demonstrating the same lack of command of his pitches (I’m talking about pitches in the zone) before his blister anyway.

That's just who he is.  He's got good stuff but unlike facing Orioles hitters, he's pitching to players who aren't as free swinging at the plate and the pitches add up.  He'd probably be a solid pitcher if he could ever harness his arsenal.

Kremer is better when he starts on a regular turn.  I am to lazy to look it up, but it seems most of his bad starts are on long rest.

Really?

Kremer had pretty good command during the Cincinnati game that NMS was referencing.

The longer rest could have very well have been a factor. Bad outings happen too.

They showed a stat last night that just screams bullpen arm. First time though the lineup he is top 10 in baseball for average against. 2nd time the's just so so. 3rd time through he's bottom 5 in baseball.
