The Apple Games would be easier to take if they had even decent announcers.  The ones they have make Bob Carpenter look good, and that’s hard to do.

I wonder how good the ratings are for Apple games?  Most Orioles fans probably do not have Apple+.  Can't go to a bar and watch as I imagine very few bars would have Apple+ streaming.  Nationwide is there a huge demand among subscribers to watch a random Orioles/Diamondbacks game on a Friday night?

I imagine the primary objective for Apple buying the game is to encourage new subscriptions.  Some might decide to get a description if its the only way to watch their team, especially if they've heard about a few shows but haven't pulled the trigger yet.  Others may do a free trial to get the game, then watch some other shows and decide it's worth paying for (or just forget to cancel).

They'll probably be able to get it in but there could be a delay.

Yeah, it's all about roping in more new subscribers. "Just sign up for the free trial", and a large percentage will forget to cancel for some amount of months, or more. Spreading the weekly games around means pumping more subscriptions out of each market. Looks like they paid $85 million per year for the rights and can cancel the deal after this season maybe? Guess we'll see if they think it's worth it soon based on whether it continues or not.

Outside of the bag of money, does it make sense for MLB?  Largely pissing off your dedicated audience and baseball isn't like football.  If I'm home I'll usually watch whatever NFL game is on, but I hardly ever watch non-Orioles MLB.

Don't really have another capable CF even if you wanted to move on unless you want Cowser starting there. I guess he could see an uptick in CF if Mullins continues to struggle and Hays comes back strong.

I gotta question the validity of some of their stats. For example, last inning Mateo came up with a guy on 3rd and 2 outs. They said chance for an RBI was 2%. Thats total nonsense.

That would imply a guy's batting average with 2 outs and a man on 3rd is .020.

I think it's gotta be the percentage each pitch, not for the at bat as a whole. Still pointless. Especially as the odds get worse as a hitter gets into better counts.
