With their win over Detroit tonight, Cleveland is 24-18.
Going into today, they ranked:
12th runs
19th batting average
4th on-base %
18th slugging %
20th era
8th quality starts
22nd whip
14th batting average against
A. Cabrera is having a big year, 13 doubles, 6 homers, .907 OPS
Jimenez and Masterson both have an ERA over 5, and have allowed a ton of walks.
Sounds like they are getting on base and their starters are going a decent number of innings. But there's something missing, because teams with those kinds of numbers aren't usually 24-18.
Are they getting lucky? Hitting especially well with RISP or limiting hitters to an especially low OPS with RISP?

Solid move by the Indians IMO. Think this will be a good fit for both sides and good on having a long-term vision.

Slightly disappointed the Orioles didn't pursue this guy. Especially considering their lack of impact position players. This guy should be fun to keep track of.
