They also decline their options for Travis Hafner and Roberto Hernandez.

http://www.mlbtrader...hernandezs.html

The 35-year-old Hafner hit .228/.346/.438 in 263 plate appearances this year, and will receive a $2.75MM buyout instead of a $13MM salary. Hernandez, 32, allowed 15 runs in 14 1/3 innings across three starts this year. His option was worth $6MM.

Hafner would be a good fit for the Rays. Probably a better option than Luke Scott at this point.

So, they got Swisher and Bourn..lost 2 picks.

They are in a winnable division and its not like they spent stupid money to get either of them.

Cle has done buying and selling this offseason.

Figuring they couldn't sign Choo long term, they traded him to get Bauer...and they turned around and replaced him with these signings.

They have really re-vamped their team this offseason.

While the Indians are still treading water...geez, Mark Reynolds has fallen off of the face of the Earth since the beginning of May.

As a 3B he's hitting .173/.254/.282. Maybe he's just so focused on playing defense it's affecting him at the plate. I know I read that Francona told Santana they don't care at all how he hits as long as he plays good at catcher. I know he really started slumping once he started playing 3B regularly. It's probably just a coincidence though.

ESPN: Why the Indians' success won't last (Insider)

http://insider.espn....uccess-last-mlb

Feels like an article about the O's from last summer. A major difference is our offense had better players than Ryan Raburn.

The deadline came and went, and the Tribe failed to add any talent to their roster, while the Tigers, Orioles, Rangers and Red Sox made strong additions to bolster their rosters for the stretch run. Standing still while your competitors improve is equivalent to going backwards.

It seems the national media likes the O's moves more than the BSL boards?

Mark Reynolds DFA'ed by the Indians today...I may be in the minority, but would love to see him back as a RH DH / RH bat off the bench for the stretch run
