Would be curious to see how many career 25+ point losses Turgeon, Gary, and Lefty had. Willard had losses of 27 and 31 last season plus whatever this ends up being.

He should be fired
They are down 40 points to a very mediocre Wisconsin team.
That's certainly worthy of being fired.
We all know it isn't happening.... but if MD doesn't rebound in a major way next year, I don't think he survives that.

Agree, they won't fire him after just one bad season, but if they're this bad again somebody who doesn't want to pay money for players will pony up and pay money for a new coach.
While all the coaching criticisms are fair, I think the problems are much more to blame on AD & university admin than on Willard. Seems like the people in charge are incapable of generating the revenue streams that it takes to compete in this current model. We're way past the ACC exit fee and Jordan McNair settlement being a factor. They gotta find the money. I refuse to believe that there isn't enough interest out there, tough we may need to wait until the next good season - which will be hard to stumble into without significant resources - before generating enough interest to jumpstart the program and then they can't let that opportunity be squandered.

Scott... playing in his 162nd college game (146 of which he started)... finished the game with 4 shot attempts and 2 boards.
That's just weird.

Under .500 two of the past three seasons. Before then had been over .500 since '92-93. Gary was under .500 in both of his 3rd and 4th seasons, then Joe Smith & Keith Booth showed up and basically everything was great for the next 15+ years. So hopefully that's the model for Willard with Queen coming in. Gonna need to do a lot of working filling out a roster around him. Not only are you starting from behind when you're this bad, but gotta expect a good bit of attrition even from the players that aren't out of eligibility. He needs to go find 5 guys who can play, which is going to take cash that I'm not sure he has at his disposal.

You know how if you're playing some pickup at the gym, and after a few hours everyone's done, but then someone says "hey you guys wanna run one more to like 7", and that game always sucks because no one's heart is really in it? That reminds me of Dante Scott this year.
