Horrific.
Col. Kurtz is out there somewhere lamenting "the horror".

I had it on good authority from some here a few years back that Huntley could win as many games as Lamar. Could even be our QB going forward

Kinda impressive the Ravens got passable play out of him numerous times
Huntley is terrible. Shouldn't even be backup quality. Dude has an absolute noodle for an arm.

In fewer words, he's a bad NFL QB.

Would be curious to see how many OPIs were called this weekend, and then how close in game time to each other those two were.
Also saw an OT lined up in the backfield call in the horrific game. Been exactly 3 game weeks since I last saw that one.

MIA tried an onside kick late. Of course it was executed poorly and resulted in a penalty against them, giving TEN the ball at the MIA 10 yard line immediately. Blakeman (?) couldn't even adequately explain the penalty. The TEN ST coordinator was furious with a return man anyway. The whole thing was ridiculous.
The NFL kickoff disaster is the worst thing the league has done to the game since banning the horse collar because a marquee Cowboys WR got hurt by Ray Ray here in Baltimore.

Wait you think horse collar tackles should be legal?
Yep. Not gonna debate it beyond they were legal for decades and the league reacted to some marquee players getting hurt.
The new kickoff and onside kick thing is a joke.

Watching that Miami/Tennessee game last night made me appreciate what we have in the Ravens.

Dreadful viewing. Just horrible. How does Miami not have a better backup plan given Tua's history? It feels like quite the unforced error. Now their entire offense of studs (Reek, Hill, Achane) are all useless because they just signed a guy off the street to take over from who they decided was their backup QB a couple off-seasons ago, and who has god-awful every time he's stepped on the field. Just incredible stupidity on so many levels.

Maybe Skylar Thompson practiced good? IDK. But he got hurt too so Huntley is their 3rd string QB and was signed just 2 weeks ago. Obviously there is going to be some drop off. I don't think Huntley is as bad as he was last night but he is never going to be good either. Miami probably should have signed Flacco in the offseason given Tua's history like you said.

I don't like spending a ton on a backup QB, but Tua isn't just injury prone, at this point he's a threat to miss time any time he takes a normal hit--that wasn't a devastating and unusual hit he took or anything, just an awkward head/neck thing. But maybe they loved Thompson and it's just bad luck he got hurt too, I don't know. Once you get down to 3rd string you can't expect much.

Skylar proved in game time prior to this year that he wasn't usable. Puzzling to me he was on that roster given Tua's volatility. Hubris is what it is. Especially after Tua managed to get through a full season last year.

They already showed puzzling risk assessment by giving Tua $167M or whatever guaranteed for injury. This always felt like a ticking bomb. So puzzling decisions from them aren't unusual.

Happens a lot. Teams get stuck in QB purgatory by overpaying for a mediocre QB. NYG and JAX just did it too. ARZ to a lesser extent.

You simply can't afford to spend big money on a quality backup and still stock your team with other skill parts. Same thing would happen to the Ravens if Lamar went down for a significant amount of time. The defense would keep them in games, they would play a bunch of unders and go 1-5 with Josh Johnson throwing for about 112 yards a game with 2 picks.
Joe Flacco might be one of the best backups out there. At least he can still move a team and score. The rest of the teams have guys like Skylar Thompson, Taylor Hienecke, Josh Johnson, etc. And even if you have a top notch running game how long will that work when the other team totally sells out to stop it?

I mean we don't have a good back-up. If Lamar went down we'd go from a SB contender to a team that probably misses the playoffs. Tua is fragile but Lamar didn't finish 2 of the last 3 seasons he's played in. It's all relative.
