I think Bama is pretty close.  I saw some online chatter about what a "disgrace" their program had become after their 2nd loss.

Yeah they became pretty insufferable as the Saban era wore on. I guess it's just a reality with any fanbase....the more their team wins, the more entitled they become.

So my overall take now that its over.

1. I think 12 teams is a good number.

2. I think they should drop the conference champions seeding preference. They got to let them in (more on that in a second) but let the committee rank the teams 1-12 and that's the seeding.

3. Stick with the 1-4 have byes and 5 hosts 12, 6 hosts 7, etc.

Now what I would really do which will never happen cause they want their money.

Get rid of conference championships. The whole process takes too long. I really dislike the  long layoff between the end of the season and the second round. Bye teams might like to get healthy but that long off is just ripe for teams to be rusty. Yes its sss but the bye teams all stunk the first quarter of their second round games. The other way to do this is to not have a week off between the conference championships and the first round. Either way shorten it up. No off weeks once the season is over. Go to the playoffs and get going.

My additions:

Instead of bowl games the 1-4 teams host quarterfinals on their home field. If the long layoff is a disadvantage, that should level the field some.

Scrap the conference championship games and let every team play a 13th regular season game. That'll take care of the money issue. But that extra game needs to be a conference game. No padding your win total with another FCS team.
