I still say the 2006 play-off loss to the Colts was the most brutal in team history.  At least for me it was.  I still get sick to my stomach thinking about it.  Maybe because there was so much hype leading up to that game and the fact that defensively, we did a great job against Manning and STILL lost is hard to take even now.

Same,  Colts kick 5 fgs 0 touchdowns and we still lose!?  I remember every one wanting the Colts that year ( I didn't)   Still remember Heaps fumble in the first quarter, a guy at the bar was giving me crap because I was wearing  a Heap jersey, I was like wtf I'm not the one who fumbled.

I mean the games that hurt you are gonna hurt you for whatever reason. 2006 made me really sick at the time but I look back and realize McNair wasnt good enough. He was done by the time we played that game. And the Colts went on to win the SB. I find it very unlikely we beat NE the next week even if we get by Indy. 2019 losing to the damn Titans and 2011 when Evans cant hold onto a game winner. I think the fact that we came back and won the next year really covers a lot of pain on that one. But 2011 and 2019 were the two biggest opportunities we blew.

Im gonna throw 2010 in there too. We shouldve been able to hold off Pitt that year in that playoff game. We wouldve hosted Mark Sanchez and the Jets the following week if we do hold on. So 2010, 2011, and 2019 are the real missed opportunities. Without the Mile High Miracle we would've really looked back on those first 5 years with Joe with a lot of regret.

Yeah, Steelers beat us in 2008 and got the 9 win Cardinals in the SB. They beat us in 2010 and then got two 6 seeds after that, fortunately GB beat them. We left some chances out there.

2011 team hands down beats that lame ass Giants team. Probably a TD favorite or more in that game.

I agree. I think the 2006 squad vs the Bears would have been like SB 35, major blowout. Might have even gotten the shut-out that the 2000 squad (special teams) missed.  The 2011 team was a great match up against the Giants that year too.

I'm quietly praying for a Ravens vs Cowboys appearance this year.  Prescott hasn't seen the combination of pass rush and back end disciplined coverage that the Ravens are capable of.  SF would concern me a bit despite the Christmas night final score (Purdy having the chance to adjust).  Even Philly concerns me a bit despite their recent implosion because of Hurts ability.  But Dallas... man, I'd kill for the Ravens to have a chance against that squad.

Basically, whenever a remotely healthy Ravens defense faces an NFC opponent who hasn't seen them recently... I would bet on the Ravens almost every time.  Combine that with Lamar's whole skillset, and by the time they can start to adapt, they're usually playing catch up.

This team has a knack for brutal postseason exits. I think the loss to IND in 2009 and the loss to BUF in 2020 are the only ones that didn't leave me depressed for days, and they were bad enough.

The last second loss to the Titans in 2003, the afore mentioned Colts game, as improbable and fun as 2008 was, the Polamalu pick to end it sucked, the blown 21-7 lead in Pittsburgh in 2010, the Cundiff-Evans game, the 2 blown 14 leads in NE in 2014....hell, add to it the awful regular season exits; the Immaculate Extension in 2016 and the Tyler Boyd TD in 2017. We can't just lose normally, can we?

2006 was brutal because of how good the defense was and bear in mind, the Pats would've been coming here. Plus, wasn't that the year that Prince was playing at the Super Bowl?

The 2011 team was way better than the 2012 team.

Remember, bad playoff experiences can only happen to teams that frequently make the playoffs. How many bad playoff memories do Jets fans have? How about the Browns or the Cardinals?

Because you mentioned it, I just revisited the 2017 loss to the Bengals on Youtube.  What a dagger to the heart.
