No CBs through 15 picks is quite an indictement. First defensive player goes at 15. Just tells you the state of the game. All QBs, pass catchers, and OL through 14 picks.

 

Some of it is just how the class was stacked, no truly elite defensive prospects. Outside of Penix and Nix none of those 14 picks were a reach, and someone almost always reaches for a QB.

McCarthy is a reach too. I don’t understand the infatuation with him at all.

I'm a Penix fan, but obviously don't get it considering they signed Cousins. JJ and Nix are the big reaches imo.

I agree with Mike regarding the state of the game. Pass rushers and pass defenders are coveted, but this draft class tilts a different direction.
